Garcia Racing, which won its first Lucas Oil Modified Series championship in 2014, is pleased to announce that reigning champion Dylan Cappello and 2006 champion Jason Patison will drive the team’s two-car entry in the 2015 season.
Patison finished eighth in the Modified point standings and was second in a close Super Late Model title fight at the Irwindale, California, Events center in 2014. The 34-year-old from Corona, California, captured the Modified Series title in its inaugural season and finished second in 2007, despite winning 5 of 9 races, but made only 3 series starts in the next five years to concentrate on racing in the K&N West series and on his career as Vice-President of Programming for the fast-growing MAVTV American Real network. He returned to the Modified ranks with 2 race wins and a 5th-place points finish in 2013 and has fielded his own team the past two years. Patison is 5th on the series all-time win list with 7 victories.

With 2014 champion Cappello returning for a second season Patison won’t have to look far for his competition. Cappello won 2 races and the title in his rookie season and the 18-year-old from Peoria, Arizona, will try to repeat his championship effort in a new black and gold STR Chevrolet with the familiar No. 11 and continued sponsorship from Sears Garage Doors, BILSTEIN Shocks, Garcia Racing, STR, Lucas Oil and Driven Steering Wheels.
“I’m looking forward to rejoining Garcia Racing for another championship run in 2015,” Cappello said. “Considering how well last season ended I feel we’ll be able to come back and pick up where we left off.”
Michael Creevan, who was Cappello’s crew chief and confidant during the championship season, will continue in that role and long-time Garcia Racing standout Frank Vincent will be Patison’s crew chief.

Garcia Racing also will be fielding a new STR Chevrolet in the 2015 North State Modified Series, which had its successful debut season in 2014. Garcia Racing believes that joining other talented teams and sponsors in support of that series will help West Coast Modified racing continue to grow in popularity.
